This is just too hilarious not to share with you all. This book was written by Adam Mansbach and narrated by “the ultra-talented Samuel L. Jackson.” It’s just brilliant.
If you are at all sensitive to foul language I suggest you skip this one. Everyone else – enjoy! I can go to bed happy now.
Oh, I know the feeling!
Don’t remember ever having that problem, though I often fell asleep in the middle of a story and was shaken awake by the two-year-old who wanted to hear its end. But tucking-in time was always the best part of the day for me, and if it lasted a little longer, I was anything but frustrated.
At last we no longer need to feel guilty about our feelings of utter desperation all those decades ago. Mind you, I kid myself that my by now very grown-up son only uses the F-word so frequently because he was in the military. I just can’t remember saying it when he wouldn’t go the fuck to sleep.
By the way, the book has just appeared in German translation and is getting massive press coverage here:
