I am a full-time German to English translator. This blog is my creative outlet to share my knowledge and random musings. Despite the title of my blog, I am generally available for translation work – even if there might be a delay of a few days. You can contact me at gertoeng AT jill-sommer.com.

I’d actually feel a lot happier if Google wasn’t playing such a leading role in fighting this egregious legislation. Unless I’m very much mistaken, this might well be the same Google that apparently trawls the Net for bilingual content protected by IPR and then vacuums it up for its Google Translate engine, without necessarily seeking the consent of the IPR owners, right?
