Ha, ha, ha! that’s the German way of life? How nice that I change the way of my German ex-wife. She doesn’t do bead and butter and cold meat cuts any longer, instead she has brewed rice for breakfast, Cheeseburg for lunch and curry chicken for dinner. Great! It’s quite international now in Germany.
I miss it. Sometimes I recreate the German Frühstuck or Abendbrot when I’m feeling reminiscent. Our breakfasts also included Frischkäse, honey and jams perhaps with a small bowl of Muesli.
I am a full-time German to English translator. This blog is my creative outlet to share my knowledge and random musings. Despite the title of my blog, I am generally available for translation work - even if there might be a delay of a few days. You can contact me at gertoeng AT jill-sommer.com.
