Not so sure about that. ☺ All the things on the list before the steak refer to intrinsic aspects of a person’s identity, and to tell them that any of those things are “not OK” means you think they need to stop being themselves. Well, OK this is just a joke, not meant to be taken too seriously; but never the less I would assert that my revulsion at the sight of blood on my food (i.e. under-cooked steak) is a fundamental part of my identity and I can’t change it and shouldn’t have too… Just sayin…. 🙂 ☺
This threw me back a few years to an anniversary dinner shared with my sister and brother-in-law. We were at one of the most famous (and expensive) French restaurant’s in the DC area, and when my brother-in-law asked that his steak be well done, our waiter looked horrified and with a totally straight face said, “I can’t do that.” He was scared of how the chef would react!
I am a full-time German to English translator. This blog is my creative outlet to share my knowledge and random musings. Despite the title of my blog, I am generally available for translation work - even if there might be a delay of a few days. You can contact me at gertoeng AT jill-sommer.com.

I have walked out of places like that. Whatever happened to “the customer is always right”?
So in Hank’s book I, too, am not OK.
Ho hum, I even tolerate welldonophobes!
