I know I have a lot of readers who are not German speakers, but I ask your indulgence for this post. It’s just too good not to share to those of us who speak German.
Musings from an overworked translator 
This is funny even for those of us who don’t speak German! I can add a few of my favorites from Russian:
pancreas – under-the-stomach gland
thyroid – shield-shaped gland
pillow – under-ear
vacuum – dust-sucker
